More from Kroger
Lipton Cup-A-Soup 1.14 - .50q 11/14RP = .14
Duracell batteries 1.98 - .75q 10/10 P&G or 1.50q 11/14 SS = Varies. Plus buy 5 packages receive a $3 CAT
Betty Crocker boxed potatoes 1 -.50/2 or 1/2 10/3 & 11/14 GM, 11/21 SS = .50 plus there are several loadables available
Kroger brand sodas 12pk 2.19 - .50q Kroger q insert 11/14 = 1.69 (this is a store q and does not double, limit 1 q per transaction)
Need eggs? Go to here and print a q for .55 of any two one-dozen carton of eggs.
I know I already posted for the Pillsbury but be sure to load all qs from loadable sites, clip or print your paper qs, there are some good deals to be had for these items. Perfect for the holiday baking season. Remember that cookie dough can be frozen. I also found blinkies for 1.25/2 cookies doughs.
Another thing to keep in mind. The Pillsbury cat is the best deal when you buy 6, but the mini-mega event requires you to buy in lots of 4, so I would suggest picking up 6 Pillsbury and maybe 2 cereals. There some decent cereal deals too, especially paired with paper qs and loadables.

Super Doubles
If you are lucky enough to be in the Brian/College Station or Crowley area they are having super doubles for a week! Until next Tuesday they will double any coupon from .50 up to a $1.00! They will triple at the normal rate (up to .39). One catch, there is a limit of ONE like coupon per transaction. The last time we had super doubles it went like this: regular store policy on bonusing coupons up to .50, for anything beyond that the limit of one applied. I do not know if that applies for this event. If you are in the area and you find out or come up with some awesome scenarios please post them in the "comment" section at the bottom of this post. I am very jealous of you guys :) Happy shopping!

Biscuits anyone?
Kroger
Pillsbury Grands, Cinnamon or Crescent Rolls $1.50. There are tons of qs that will make this a good deal. There are loadables Kroger , Shortcuts , Cellfire . Pair that with the current CAT promo (see below) and you can get free, cheap or even money maker biscuits.
The .35qs 7/25 SS and 9/12 GM for cinnamon rolls will make this a money maker
As a side note I have used canned biscuits well past the expiration, as long as the can is intact. I just cooked some that expired in June, they weren't quite as fluffy but they were otherwise fine. I have never tried but some say you can take them out of the can and freeze them in a Ziploc, just thaw in refrigerator prior to cooking. Or...cook them and then freeze them and thaw as needed. If none of these options appeal to you, you can always give them to friends and neighbors.
Save up to $3.00 on a future order with purchase of
crescents, cookies, sweet rolls, Grands! Biscuits, Grands! cinnamon rolls, pie crusts, dinner rolls, loaves, breadsticks or pizza crust
Buy 4 get $1.00
Buy 5 get $2.00
*Buy 6 or more get $3.00 off of your next shopping order****buy 6, the best deal****
Also...I have confirmed (in Conroe at 105 & 336) that they are doubling and tripling more than three like coupons in a single transaction. WOOOOHOOOO! I have tried as many as 12 in a single transaction with no problem.

Excting news!!!!
I heard a rumor that Kroger was increasing the number of like qs they would bonus in a single transaction; currently it is three. Tonight I tried using 4 like qs that were .50 and wooooohooooo!!!! all 4 of them doubled. At this point I can't tell you if there is a new limit or no limit. As soon as I know something I will share!
I owe you an apology
I know I have been silent for better than a week...I am sorry. Most of you have learned by now that my silence usually means there are no deals. However, generally I will tell you there are no deals going just to let you know I have checked. It is not that I don't care but I have been incredibly busy. Bear with me...and thank you for understanding :)

It's a new month...do you know what that means?
It is time to check all the printable and loadable sites for new qs.
Once again I am personally glad for another slow week. The only thing I plan to buy is a brisket at Kroger for .87/lb. Says limit one with a $10 purchase. I will fill in with a few items for our cookout this weekend like bread, hot dog buns, etc.
I read that HEB has Hot Shot bugs pray for $1.54. There is a $1.50 printable here = .04
While you are at HEB pick up a copy of their September issue of My HEB Texas Life magazine. It is a free magazine that often has store qs, etc. (You can also view the magazine online at www.heb.com ) If you will look on page 23 it outlines a promo for 70 bonus Box Tops for Education plus a $5 OYNO CAT. I will be looking to pair up qs with BTFE products for the best deals.
I hope everyone has a happy and safe Labor Day weekend. May the Lord richly bless you!

New Short Cuts loadables
Shortcuts has added more loadables that match up nicely with the current sale! These will help to make items free or certainly reduce your out of pocket. Be sure to check their printables too while you are there. There is a .50 Chex Mix q that will make them free. Also CellFire loaded new qs this week too. Be sure to head over to their site before you shop!
Remember that Sunday is the last day to take advantage of the $5 Kraft CAT and the $4 GM cereal CAT. The great thing about both of these CATs is you can receive multiples in a single transaction. For instance I bought 16 cereals last night and received 4 $4 CATs. Paired with my $1/2 q it was great to make money on cereal!

Kroger Sale 8/11-8/17
This is a pretty good sale. It is particularly good for stocking up on snack foods. During the similar sale last year at this time had us stocked for a year! It does seem funny to spend so much money on snack food but it sure is fun!

There is no limit on the number of event allowed per transaction; just refresh your memory on multiples of 8....16, 24, 32.... Prices I listed are after additional discount which will show up on your receipt at the end as "$4 off Mega Event" so on you receipt you will see the price before discount listed beside each item.

Kroger sale 8/4 - 8/10
This week looks like an easy one...the P&G sale continues (***see my previous post about this sale, must buy 4 items***). Keep in mind that we got a new P&G insert but there are still match-ups from the loadables and the new inserts. One exception is the Old Spice deal, we did not get new qs.
The Gillette body wash deal is still available one bonus could be that the new q is for $2 off body wash or deodorant. With the current promotion the body wash would be free and the deodorant would be .29
Look for Herbal Essence (prices are after P&G discount*)
1 shampoo or conditioner 1.99* + styler 1.99* - Free styler WYB 1 shampoo or conditioner q 8-1 P&G = Could be as good as FREE, it all depends on how much the cashier puts the FREE item through for. It could be as high as 1.99 for both if they put the FREE one through for the sale price after the P&G deal. My cashier rang them at 2.99.
Here is my breakdown:
1 shampoo + 1 hairspray =1.99* + 1.99* = 3.98 - 2.99 = .99 for both
Pampers diapers 7.99* - 1.50q 8-1 P&G= 6.49 (this is not a stock up price in my book but an ok deal if you need them now)
Pampers wipes (not part of P&G promotion) 2.19 - Free WYB diapers q 8-1 P&G = FREE
Other than the few P&G deals I see nothing else. I am NOT impressed with the "Meat Mania" promo. I will post any other deals I might stumble across, otherwise save that grocery money for another week. A little birdie told me that next weeks Kroger sale for the 3 stores in the Conroe area were having their own Mega event in addition to whatever sale would be happening to celebrate the grand re-opening of the store on the south loop and I45. Stay tuned....

Sunday Coupon Preview
Head on over to www.sundaycouponpreview.com see what coupons will are due this weekend. There is a new P&G coming out that should go very nicely with the current P&G sale at Kroger :)
4 Day Back-to-School Sale 7/31-8/3
I must warn you that the following post is going to seem very vague. But...starting this Friday July 31st and running through Tuesday August 3rd there is a special 50% off sale at Kroger on General Mills and Quaker products. I can tell you that:
Captain Crunch cereal will be 1.29 - .50q = .29
My advice: make sure you have all of your General Mills and Quaker qs cut and ready. Also check the loadable links in this blog for any loadable qs. There was a CAT going on for some General Mills products but I think it ends Saturday (which is the first day of this sale).
See I told you it was going to be vague, and no I am not copping out I just don't have a list of prices so I don't know what they will be at 50% off. Again, like the P&G sale since time is short if you wait for me to find all the deals and post them it may be over. So get clipping, loading and be ready to shop!

Kroger P&G Sale - HURRY
KROGER:
I did a quick shopping trip tonight. This post will tell you some of the things I see initially, but is not likely an exhaustive list. There is a "mega event" type sale on Proctor and Gamble products this week. Buy 4 participating items receive $4 off. (prices listed reflect P&G discounted price)
2 Gillette mens body wash 1.99 - 2q 7/4 P&G + B1G1 6/6 P&G = FREE (possibly get overage, depends if your cashier takes off the sale price or the reg price as the free one if you have BOGOs)
OR
1 Gillette body wash 1.99 - 2q 7/4 P&G = FREE (I used my BOGO qs on the BOGO sale several weeks ago)
8 Old Spice body washes = $2.99 x 8 = $23.92
4 Fresh ap/deo = $3.99 x 4 = $15.96
total, $39.88
use these coupons: (all qs are from the 6/6 & 7/4 P&G) there are also loadables here
(4) BOGO free body wash = $2.99 x 4 = $11.96
(4) BOGO free Fresh deod = $3.99 x 4 = $15.96
(2) $1/2 any OldSpice item= $1.00 x 2 = $2.00
total coupon value, $29.92
since you've bought 12 Old Spice items, you get 3 $4 promotion deductions for a total of $12 off your transaction $39.88 - $29.92 - $12 = $2.04 OVERAGE (When I did this transaction the cashier took off 3.50 for the deodorant instead of 4.69 so I did not get overage but I got it free. It all depends on the way the cashier puts the qs through) **thanks to a poster on HCW for the Old Spice scenario. It was a bit confusing and there has been a lot of discussion of it being a legit usage of the qs but it was verified to be a legit deal**
Charmin mega roll 5.99 - .25q 7/4 P&G - $3 Loadable = 2.24
Downy liq fab softener 3.99 - .25q 7/4 P&G - $2 Loadable = 1.24
Tide Stain release 9.99 - 3q 7/4 P&G - $3 Loadable = 3.99
These are a few scenarios. My advice is to go here and load all P&G qs to your Kroger card and then print your list of loadables. Then, take all the qs from the 6/6 and 7/4 P&G and go to the store and match up your items, there are probably lots of good deals that are in the store that are not in the sale paper and because our qs expire soon you may want to hurry over. If you wait for me to find the deals and post them it may be too late.
Remember that the above items can be mixed and matched but they must be in lots of 4. You can do multiples in one transaction; I did 68 P&G items in one transaction and received $4 off 17 times)
HURRY the above mentioned P&G qs expire 7-31
Cheese, cheese, cheese and more cheese
Well....The cheese deal has gotten better. Here is the breakdown:
Found a blinkie machine in the Kraft cheese section that is spitting out $1/2qs (shredded and bars). Additionally you can receive multiple $5 CATs in one transaction. (for every 5 you buy you receive a $5 CAT)
30 bags Kraft shredded cheese $1.88*ea - 15 $1/2 qs = 41.40 (receive 6 $5 CATS) = 11.40 = .38ea
30 bars Kraft cheese $1.88*ea - 15 $1/2 qs =41.40 (receive 6 $5 CATS) = 11.40 = .38ea
**the price of 1.88 is only when you buy in lots of 10 and receive the mega event discount**
Now...I bought 30 of each but you could do 10, 20, and so on as long as it is in lots of 10. I don't know if there is a limit. To be on the safe side I would do multiple transactions in lots of 10. Another beauty of multiple transactions would be to roll the CATs. What that means is you use the CAT from the previous transaction to off set the price of the current transaction.
The Kraft single 16 slice 1.79. There is no q available as far as I know and it is not part of the mega event but for every 5 you buy receive a $5 CAT. My transaction looked like this:
20 Kraft single 1.79 = 35.80 (receive 4 $5 Cats) =15.80 = .79 each
Remember that cheese freezes very well. I am not sure about the singles as I have never tried to freeze them but I may try freezing a package and then report back to you.
Don't forget we got Softsoap qs and speedstick qs today. They are FREE after q and are part of the mega event.

Did you think I fell off the planet?
In a way I did. I have been working at church camp with my kids for the past three weeks. Luckily for me it coincided with three weeks of poor sales. So my grocery money has been piling up. I am anxious to see what tomorrows sales will bring. I will be gone again next week for vacation so stayed tuned.
I did go by Wal-Mart today and picked up the following items:
Pampers wipes 1.97 - 2q 6-6 P&G = -.03
Pull ups flushable wipes 1.64 -1q 6-13 SS = .64
Noxema bikini razors 1.97 -2q 5.23 RP = -.03

Just found out that the Brookshire Bros in Montgomery is now doubling and tripling coupons. I do not know any of their policies, limits, etc but will be looking into that soon. There is a link to the store here on my blog so feel free to check the sales and see if you can help me find any match ups.

Big Summer Fun on a Small Budget
Switching gears just a bit from my regular posts on couponing I wanted to talk about summer vacations. We are often asked about traveling. The questions range from finances to the logistics of getting everyone from point A to point B. I am going to attempt to give you some idea of how we have summer fun without breaking the bank. The first thing you should know is that we DO NOT use credit cards. We pay as we go or we don't go. Please also remember we are not wealthy people but we do try to create a budget and stick to it. We actually have a savings account! What!?! Yes, it's true we are old fashioned and actually save money to accomplish what we want instead of charging what we want, believe me you can save a lot if you are not giving all of your money to credit card companies in the form of interest. Enough about that and on to the topic at hand.
We started the summer off by going with friends to camp on land that is owned by family. We stayed in our travel trailer. While we were there we rode horses, played in the creek, shot guns, fished, canoed, rode four wheelers, took long walks, cooked out and visited with friends and family. The budget $50.
Keep in mind that we have 8 children ranging in ages 15 years to 15months. So one thing we do is send everyone (8 and older) to church camp. We were very fortunate that 3 of our children earned scholarships to camp based on their accomplishments. That helped the budget immensely! That left us paying only 2 camp tuitions plus Tshirts. I go to each camp and work as a matron and in the cafeteria. The benefits of camp are numerous but one thing I want to mention is that each of our kids gets to go to the camp that corresponds with their age group and I get to be there too so it gives them time with peers and with mom on a more individualized level. (The kids that are not old enough for camp stay home with dad and one of the grandmothers stays during the day and does special activities each day; special crafts, trips to the park, etc. They look forward to Granny Camp each year!) Each of our kids saves money from birthdays or money they have earned to spend on concessions or souvenirs. Because I am there I can bring extra snacks from home at a significant savings over the concession stand. The budget for camp $400!
Next, we attend a family reunion every summer. We are able to stay with relatives or stay in our travel trailer. We have tons of fun, bring food and snacks from home to share with everyone and we purchase everyone a Tshirt. The budget for this trip $200!
Additionally, this summer we are going to stay for a week on a lake near family. Fortunately for us the lake is not a vacation hot spot, the rental for the RV spot is only $22 dollars a night! We bring food from home and spend lots of time with family. All the while swimming and using my brothers boat. I have budgeted $300 for an 8 day stay on the lake!
There is a possibility of another short trip. If that takes place I will let you know the details! So you see we are very busy and so far we have spent less than $1000 for summer activities.
I have mentioned our travel trailer several times. This was the best thing we ever purchased. It allows us to logistically, comfortably and easily go many places. Most places would require us to get 2 hotel rooms. The expense of that can be overwhelming never mind the trouble of hauling luggage in and out for 10 people! A stay at an RV park can be as cheap as $12 a night! Depending on what you are looking for and the popularity of the area you are staying the price can be up to about $50 per night. An added benefit of RVing is the park where you stay is often tons of fun for the kids in and of itself and they are not cooped up in a room. We bring along scooters, jump ropes, roller blades, swim suits, etc. We save tons of money because we also prepare our own food the majority of the time. Throughout the year we travel at least one weekend a month, often much more. We do not have an automobile note which has allowed us to make this purchase. If you have a large family or even a smaller family but enjoy lots of traveling I would consider an RV/travel trailer. Ours stays packed with food, toiletries, bedding, etc. We can be ready to go very quickly. You can purchase one very reasonably priced.

A few more deals
Well...like I needed anything else to add to my list...don't get me wrong I am thankful but sometimes it gets a little overwhelming. If you have been couponing for awhile you will learn to really love "dry spells" like we have had for the last several weeks. If every week where like this one I don't think I could keep up. Enough of that...on with the deals

Rain check and cheetos
Don't forget to ask for a rain check for any items out of stock. I know there are still several days left in the sale but it can be very frustrating to miss a good deal.
Be ware if you are in the Conroe area and shopping at the 105 and loop store, the Cheetos were ringing 2.18 rather than 1.67. Watch and they should fix it at the register. If they do not, go immediately to customer service and ask them (nicely :)) to fix it. You should get the first one "free" and a refund on the difference for any additional bags that did not ring correctly. They won't always automatically give you the first one free so you may have to ask (sweetly :) please).

A couple of Kroger deals.
Two slow weeks in a row is okay with me. Just tuck that grocery money away.
Kroger
Snuggle fabric softener is on sale for 3.50 - 3q 3-28 RP and Loadable= -.50 MM
Don't forget to keep picking up the Betty Crocker potatoes and the Birds Eye veggies I blogged about last week.
Snuggle is also $3 at the Family Dollar store which would make it FREE. I have run into some problems there before when using multiple qs and finding it in stock. Certainly worth a try. These qs expire 5/2 so there is a little time but don't want to wait too long a miss a good deal.

New Month
As April begins new coupons both printable and loadable are often available. I have the links available at the bottom right. Visit them, load and print!
Sunday Coupon Preview
If you want to see a preview of this weekends qs head on over to sunday coupon preview . So far the P&G preview is available.
Whew! I needed a break!
So far I don't see anything earth shattering in the sales this week. This would be a good time to concentrate on WalGreens (see my previous post) and relax and organize your coupons. If you budget weekly for your groceries my advice is to you is to withdraw that cash from your account and tuck it away in your wallet. While I'm on that subject let me just give a little advice. I don't profess to be a financial genius by any stretch of the imagination but I do successfully feed a family of ten on a small budget.
1. Set an obtainable weekly budget for groceries, household cleaning supplies and toiletries. Mine: $150.
2. Withdraw that amount of cash or transfer to a household only checking account on a regularly scheduled basis. Mine: Every Monday - cash
3. DON'T USE IT FOR ANYTHING ELSE! Mine: strict, no drive through, clothes, eating out, strict
So you see on a week like this one the majority of the money stays put, it may happen that way for more than one week. But there will be weeks come along like the past two where you will go over budget (weekly budget that is) but it will be fine because you have held on tightly to the "off weeks" money. This will take some discipline but it will save you tons of money and make budgeting easier. You will be amazed at how much you save!
If I come across any deals I will be sure to post.

Not bad but my mistakes doubled my total OOP; I wanted to post this to show you we are human, busy moms, get distracted and not every transaction is going to work like you may think. Even those of us who have been doing this awhile make mistakes. Don't beat yourself up, learn from them and go on. I like to think that it all "comes out in the wash" so to speak. There have been times when deals went way better than I had expected.

Paper Towels
I have failed to mention that on a regular basis the P&G (Proctor and Gamble) put out a .25 q on any Bounty paper towel or napkins. Kroger always has their Bounty basic paper towels for $1.09 and periodically runs them for $1. So...when those qs come out I cut them and always pick up three rolls when I go to Kroger. Remember that Kroger will double or triple 3 of any like qs per transaction. 1.09 - .75 = .34 per roll and .25 per roll if you catch them on sale.

I know this is a long list and I will go over my weekly budget of $150, however; I have money carried over from previous weeks when I did little to no shopping. Remember that when you have a good stockpile you can "skip" weeks of shopping if the sales aren't good or if you are unable to get out. I still set aside that weeks grocery budget and carry it forward for weeks such as these.
You may also wonder about buying so many junk items such as chips, candy and cokes. Don't think we live on junk food, however; one of my current goals is to stockpile these types of items for upcoming summer camps, family reunions, vacations, etc. You will save a small fortune on these items if you bring them along on your trips rather than purchasing them at a convience store, snack stand, or even full price later at a grocery store. We travel monthly throughout the year in our RV and I like to keep heat-and-eat, snacks, etc on hand.

Sorry for the Silent Treatment
I am very sorry for not posting a grocery list in the past few weeks. Number one there has been very little to buy as the sales have been poor. Number two my family was very sick for a few weeks and we are just getting back into normal life. However, stay tuned because there is supposed to be a good sale coming to Kroger next week. I will use this dry spell as a perfect example for creating a stockpile. You might be thinking your cupboards would be bear if you didn't go to the store for a few weeks...well when you have an abundance of things around you are very thankful when you kids are sick and you just can't get away. There were a few dashes into the store for milk, bread and eggs, but little else. We even had most of the over the counter medications we needed on hand; of course they were things I had stockpiled at little or no cost. Needless to say all the stresses of having a large sick family was enough, I am thankful I wasn't stressed about groceries, there were plenty on hand. It might interest you to know during our sickness we used 13 boxes of tissues...free Puffs plus tissues! Only the best for my crew!

My Grocery List Feb 17-23
Well as I thought this weeks Kroger sale is much the same as last week so I will continue to pick up a few things:
Remember when it is a mega sale you must purchase participating items in lots of ten to get the full discount.
*prices listed are the cost of the item each before mega deal discount*
2 Purex $2.49* - (2) .35/1= 2.88 (even if you don't have any qs these are a great buy; receive $4 cat when you buy 2)
6 Pillsbury biscuits 1.29* - (3).30/2 (11-22, 12-13, 12-6SS, 1-3GM) = $5.04 (receive a $4 catalina when you buy 6)
10 Chef Boyardee ravioli $1* - (2) $1/5 (1-10SS) = $8
2 Campbells Chunky Soup $1.29* - .50/2(2-7 SS) = $1.58
Total= $17.50 - $6 for 2 Daytona mega deals

My Grocery List Feb 10-16
Many people want to know how we can afford to feed our family. I use coupons for many things and stockpile. I primarily shop at Kroger but often get good deals at other stores. I am going to try to make this a weekly post to show others what I am buying and how I am getting it so cheaply. Bear with me and feel free to give me some feedback on how I can better help anyone.
I know the shopping week is nearly over but here is a list of what I am buying at Kroger this week. Kroger often runs what they call "mega sales". These sales often run for a two week time period. The current sale is a mega sale called the Daytona sale. What you must keep in mind to maximize this sale is you must mix and match in lots of 10 their participating mega sale items.
My Kroger will triple three like coupons (qs) up to .39 and double three like qs .40-.50
My list:
Mega event items are denoted with * and prices shown are before the mega event discount
2 Purex $2.49 each -.35 insert = $2.88
6 Pillsbury grands $1.29 - .30/2 = 5.04
2 Coke 2liter $1.25= 2.50
-$3 for Daytona deal
TOTAL: $10.42
Something else to keep in mind. I buy 15 Houston Chronicles each week for the coupons. If you are wondering where the qs I mentions come from it is from the inserts in the paper unless I mention otherwise.

Another deal I have been doing this week:
In three separate times transactions I bought:
6- OEP Taco seasonings 6*.69= 4.14 - $1/4 (tearpad) - .60/2 IP (better Homes and Gardens website)= 2.54
earned $3 CAT ONYNO beef or chicken on each transaction
(there was also a .50 loadable but I had used that in a previous transaction last week if it hasn't expired some of you may have that as well))
With 3 $3 Cats in hand and one more tearpad q $1/4 I bought (didn't have any more IPs):
3- crazy meal deals:
3- 5lb beef chuck @ 9.87 each = 29.61
Free items:
3 - 2pk 50oz coke
3 - lettuce
3 - OEP taco shells
3 - OEP taco seasoning
= 29.61 - $9 cats - $1/4 OEP =19.61 and earned another $3 cat beef/chicken
You could further offset the cost with some of the cats from purex and pilsbury

The Offer
Ok...we have decided to purchase 53 acres. It is close to land that has been in the family for many years. We stand to inherit a portion of it someday and in the mean time could use it for farming, hunting, and timber harvesting.
So we made an offer and were turned down because our offer was too low. We thought there was nothing they could say but "No" and they did. We will be making another offer hopefully this week. It all seems so perfect however I can't see past this moment. More than anything we only want to be in God's will. If it is His will we will secure the land if not we will return to the prayer room.

The Plan
Well we have a goal to transition our family from suburbia to a more rural life. So one of the first things we did was to begin to rid ourselves of any debt, reduce our monthly expenses, and save, save, save. That plan is well under way. Of course we have had some hitches but that is to be expected in any family but things can get very interesting very fast when you have a family of ten. After all, life does go on and we are willing to make sacrifices but not make anyone suffer.
The next portion of the plan is to choose a place to purchase land. We have finally settled on an area that is closer to our family particularly our parents as they are entering their golden years. As a bonus land prices are considerably better in that area than where we currently reside. We plan to build our house ourselves by cutting our own timbers and lumber.
There is a bigger plan within the plan and that is to be completely debt free (not even a mortgage) within 10 years. But even more importantly we want to spend more time with our children.
